In conjunction with the Ipswich Hospital Foundation’s Park2Park Fun Run & Shaw’s Focus on Fitness Junior, our aim is to get children and their family members involved in physical activities. The Family Challenge is to complete the Park2Park Half Marathon bit by bit (700m per day) over a set period of time. It’s fun, non competitive event which runs over a 6 week period.

How does it work?

To reach the goal, kids and their families will need to run 700 metres per day, during school hours and or with family members after school or on weekends. To finish the Family Challenge Half Marathon, children and their families are invited to run the final 700 metres on Sunday July 25th at the annual Park2Park fun run held at Bill Paterson Oval, Limestone Park 9:30am.  

Cost and Prizes?

FREE!!  That’s right it’s free!  The idea is to get as many school’s children and family members active in involved in the challenge as possible.  To help encourage you to get active, there are a number of prizes up for grabs for schools and individuals!  Bonus prizes for Family Challenge participants that attend Shaw Fitness,  Focus on Fitness Junior Training Sessions!

What happens after I register?

Your log book which will be sent to you after you register is your record book to mark off the 700 metres you have completed.  Of course you will need lots of support from your teacher and family members and most importantly a positive attitude about getting active.   

Things to Rememeber

Start the Challenge on the 14th June Complete 700 metres per day for 6 weeks
Attend Shaw Fitness, Focus on Fitness Junior Training Sessions
Attend the 2010 Park2Park 9:30am to finish your final 700 metres
